Finding New York City boutique hotels under $250

I’m going to New York in two weeks and have spent at least four hours already looking for a room that suits both our budget and the ideal location — close to Manhattan and Chelsea, where we’ll be visiting friends. First, I had to get over the idea that three-star rooms can cost more than $200/night. So, we upped our budget to $250.

All the big travel websites such as Expedia, Hotels.com and Orbitz can help you find lodging within your budget and in the area you want to be in. Since I don’t know that much about New York hotels, I spent extra time reading reviews. Here is a short list of tips and the hotel we ended up booking.

Nylo: Boutique and budget hotel in Plano

Took a quick tour of Nylo, the newest boutique hotel up north. Construction workers and employees are buzzing about working hard to get the hotel in perfect shape by tomorrow's official opening.

The chic new chain is helmed by Michael Mueller, veteran of Starwood Hotels (where he helped launch the W chain). Interiors are designed by Stephane Dupoux, whose past projects include award-winning nightspots in Europe, Miami and New York, most notably Buddha Bar and Cielo.

It's a design-minded hotel without the driven up prices -- rooms range from $110 for a single and go up to $170 for a suite per night.

The Hoxton Hotel shows that it is possible to find a cheap hotel in London, in the funky Hoxton neighborhood, with 205 rooms from as little as £59 per night.

I've been hearing good things about London's new Hoxton Hotel, where you can get rooms for as low as £59 a night (US$112). It's a place that seems to combine the approach of a boutique hotel with the no-frills of a budget airline. And like low-cost airlines, the sooner you book, the better chance you have of getting a bargain rate.

Veronica Residence is quite unique, especially in the area of Bangkok where it is loocated. Ratchadaphisek Road is a street in the North of Bangkok that is quickly becoming more and more important. The subway that goes along it has done its part to boost the streets popularity for business as well as for living. Popular Amenities at Hotels in San Diego:

24 Hour Room Service or Extended Hours Room Service - This can be a huge factor for some travelers and many smaller boutique hotels don't offer this. It's too costly for them to keep a kitchen staff later or 'round the clock. Trendy hotels that offer this should definitely get a couple bonus points!
